CarFlix Privacy Policy

CarFlix brings your videos to the car screen. This policy explains what data the app uses, why, and who processes it.

Summary

We don't sell your data and we don't show ads. The app works without an account. If you create an account, subscribe to Premium or turn on notifications, we keep only what is needed for that to work.

Data we keep

Account (optional): when you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email (Apple may provide a relay email). Used to carry your subscription and cars to another phone.
Device: an identifier created by the app at install, phone model, system and app version, language and time zone. Used to make the app work without an account and to fix problems.
Subscription: plan, status (active, free trial, canceled) and dates, provided by the App Store or Google Play. We never receive your card details: payment happens in the store.
App usage: events such as opening the plans screen, sending a video to the car or finishing setup, and how many minutes were watched on the car screen per day. Used to count free time and improve the app. We do not record which videos or sites you watch.
Notifications (optional): if you allow them, we keep the device notification token to send alerts such as the end of your free time.
Referrals (when available): your referral code and, to receive Pix payouts, the Pix key you register.

What stays only on your device

Sites, shortcuts, history, queue and where a video stopped.
Logins, cookies and browsing data of the sites you open.
Location (Android): GPS speed is used only on the device to hide video while the car is moving; it is not stored or sent.

Who processes the data

We use services that process data on our behalf, only to run the app: Supabase (database and accounts), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Expo and Apple/Google notification services (alerts), and the App Store and Google Play (payments). We don't share your data for advertising.

Your rights and deletion

You can delete your account and its data at any time in Account › Privacy › Delete my account, inside the app. You can also ask for access or correction at the email below. Subscriptions are canceled in the store (App Store or Google Play).

Browser and websites

CarFlix is a browser: it does not provide videos, channels or content. The sites you open on the phone or on the car screen load directly from your device and follow each site's own privacy policy. If you sign in to a site, the login happens on that site; CarFlix never sees or stores your password. Cookies and browsing data stay on the device, and you can clear them anytime.

Sharing to CarFlix

When you use Share from another app to send a link to CarFlix, only that link's address and title reach the app, and they stay on the device.

Permissions

Internet: to open the sites and videos you choose.
Microphone and speech recognition (optional): used only when you tap the microphone to search by voice on the car screen. Speech is turned into text by the device's system speech service, under the system maker's policy. CarFlix does not record or keep the audio.
Notifications (optional): for CarFlix alerts on your phone.
Photos (optional): only when a site open in the browser asks you to choose a file. The chosen file goes only to that site.
Location (optional, Android): only to hide video while the car is moving.

Children

CarFlix is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
